Oil on Constructed wood (24x36), 2013

This group of works made in 2013 is fun to “Ponder” into in retrospect, as a few of these shapes or motifs persisted to reoccur in later work; i.e, the chair motif has evolved from a fascination with the idled romantic (an idea which inspires my work/life ambitions today.) Also, painting in my late undergraduate career further included form as an outlet for painting abstraction, equipped interest then are only bound to reassert itself in my contemporary work.

Reoccurring motif identified:

+ A triangle— ie. “MidSummer Nights’,(…)(2017/8,)”,etc.

+ The chair or couch— i.e “Black Couch, White Couch (2015,)” “Sun,Shower, Sofa (2016,)”, etc.

Oil, Acrylic, Latex on Constructed wood (20x36), 2013

This work included laminating and carving wood, additive and subtractive processes, to establish an abstracted scene. Relating to a place of prominence for one (me), and a unknown place or a place of nothing to another one and another. Perhaps the form presented in this painting grants the viewer a birds-eye perspective.

Actually, this organic form within a tight square is referencing the premises of Red Fern Housing of NYHA.

Reoccurring motif identified:

+ Poured Paint— I.e a featured intervention of “Exploding Europa City (by Yves Mettler,)” with Paz Bardi where we detail by dripping paint (like Francis Alyss “Green Line”) the perimeter, of the then newly initiated Europacity development in Berlin.

+ Poured Paint— I.e I make videos where I pour paint!
